Sun, 2010-11-28 (All day) - Tue, 2010-11-30 (All day)
Centara Grand Hotel, Bangkok

Thailand is hosting an international creative economy forum in the vibrant capital city of Bangkok between November 28 - 30, 2010. The event is co-organised by Thailand's Ministry of Commerce, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). It is expected to bring together more than 1,000 creative professionals, entrepreneurs and academics in creative sectors from throughout the world. The theme is "globaLOCALisation: local move, global success" emphasising creative responses at the local level to globalisation.

The three-day event also unfolds dedicated debates and idea-sharing by the world leading creators which evolve around creativity and its subtle links to today's global socio-economic challenges. There will also be parallel festivals at different locations of the city, exploring the world of filmmaking, broadcasting and design — hence ideal networking opportunities.

Thailand International Creative Economy Forum marks an anniversary of the formal launch of creative economy policy in Thailand, drawing creative luminaries like John Howkins, Steve Jobs, Charles Landry and senior and reputable policy makers and entrepreneurs to stimulate robust exchanges of ideas. Thailand is also approaching celebrities in creative sectors to be the brand ambassadors of TICEF.

The hosting exhibits the country's readiness to take on a leadership role in creative fields in the region.
