Songkran Celebrations at the Buddhist Temples in Singapore

Besides the throwing of water, Thai people celebrate Songkran as a Buddhist festival. Buddhists would go to the temple to conduct the “Song nam phra”ceremony, the cultural practice of cleansing the Buddha statues by gently pouring water mixed with a Thai fragrance over them.
