All Set for a Spectacular Countdown 2011 Events in Thailand
The Thai government is to organize the spectacular annual New Year Countdown events in Bangkok and 28 other nationwide provinces.
According to the Tourism Authorithy of Thailand, all the events will carry a common fun-filled theme, "Siam Sanook" and "Sawasdee Muang Thai," to create a festive atmosphere for Thai people and foreign visitors.
The highlights will be three major events as follows:
Bangkok Countdown 2011 @ CentralWorld: A variety of performances will be staged at CentralWorld Square near Ratchaprasong Intersecton in Bangkok, featuring Thai superstars and singers, on 31 December 2010. Thai TV Channel 7 will broadcast the entire event live.
Happy Together Countdown 2011 @ Future Park Rangsit: This event will be held between 30-31 December 2010, at Alive Park in Future Park Rangsit in Pathum Thani province. Special activities will include a “Happy Thailand” parade and Happy Rabbit (to mark the Year of the Rabbit 2011) photographic opportunity. The Countdown will be struck on a large clock tower and end with concerts by many Thai superstars. TV Channel 11 will broadcast the event on 31 December 2010.
Udon Thani 1st Difference Countdown 2011 @ UD Town: in Udon Thani province will be held on 31 December 2010, from 18.00-02.00 hrs. About 150,000 local people from all around Northeast Thailand are expected to participate in this celebration which will have a distinctly local flavor, with music, dances, comedy skits, and spectacular fireworks. Singers from Thailand, Lao PDR, and Vietnam will perform to build harmony and unity among the people of the Greater Mekong Subregion. Home Cable TV and MCOT1 (UBC 98) will broadcast the event live.
