E-Passport
Instructions for Obtaining E-Passport
- An applicant must apply for an e-passport in person at the Royal Thai Embassy because his/her biometric data, such as finger prints, must be collected in the contactless integrated circuit.
- Submission hours: 9.15-11.30 a.m.
Required Documents
- An e-passport application form. |Download|,
- Thai Identity Card or Thai House Registration bearing 13-digit numbers with one photocopy,
- Current passport with one photocopy of pages 1-2,
- Singapore’s ID card, Employment Pass or Work Permit with one photocopy,
- Fee SGD 58.00 (CASH ONLY)
Additional Required Documents of Special Cases
1. First E-Passport for Children who were born in Singapore
- Thai Birth Certificate with one photocopy,
- Parents’ valid passports and Thai Identity Cards together with one set of photocopy,
- Marriage Certificate of parents together with one photocopy,
- Thai House Registration with one photocopy (if any),
- Parents are required to sign an application form to give their consents for their minors to apply for his/her passport in person.
NOTE
If one or both of the parents is/are not able to sign the application form, a Letter of Consent certified by a Royal Thai Embassy or Thai Consulate-General is required.
2. Minor: E-Passport for those who are under 20 years old
- Thai Birth Certificate with one photocopy,
- Parents’ valid passports or Thai Identity Cards together with one photocopy,
- Marriage Certificate of parents together with one photocopy,
- Parents are required to sign on an application form to give their consents for their minors to apply for his/her passport.
NOTE
If one or both of the parents is/are not able to sign the application form, a Letter of Consent which is certified by a Royal Thai Embassy or Thai Consulate-General is required.
3. Buddhist Monk
- Approval letter from the Sangha Supreme Council, Office of National Buddhism,
- Identity Booklet for a Buddhist Monk.
How to collect E-passport: Collection hours: 2.00-4.30pm.
1. An applicant may collect his/her passport in person. An applicant may request his/her representative to collect on his/her behalf for his/her passport at the Royal Thai Embassy by showing the receipt of application.
2. An applicant may collect his/her passport at the Consular Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangkok by himself/herself, showing the receipt. However, the applicant’s representative may collect his/her passport, showing a power of attorney together with the receipt and ID card of the representative.
NOTE
* All documents and biometric data of applicants have to be sent to the Foreign Ministry, Bangkok to produce passports and then the passports will be sent to the Royal Thai Embassy. Processing time is about
2 - 4 weeks.
