Announcement of the Centre for Resolution of Emergency Situation regarding the prohibition of use of roads or vehicles
Pursuant to the announcement of a severe emergency situation in the areas of Bangkok; Nonthaburi Province; Muang, Bang Phli, Phra Pradang, Phra Samut Chedi, Bang Boh and Bang Sao Thong Districts, Samut Prakan Province; Thanyaburi, Lad Lumkaew, Sam Kok, Lam Luk Ka and Khlong Luang Districts, Pathumthani Province; Phutthamonthon District, Nakhon Pathom Province; and Wang Noi, Bang Pa-in, Bang Sai and Lat Bua Luang Districts, Ayutthaya Province;
In order to enable an expeditious resolution of the emergency situation and prevent an escalation of violent incidents, it is therefore necessary to control the use of traffic routes and vehicles in the areas where unlawful demonstrations are taking place. By the power vested under Article 3 of the Order issued pursuant to Section 9 of the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in Emergency Situation, B.E. 2548 (2005), the Chief Official hereby announces the following measures :
1. Use of traffic routes and vehicles to enter or exit through the following routes shall be prohibited:
a. Petchaburi Road from the expressway entrance to Ratchathevi Intersection;
b. Phyathai Road from Ratchathevi Intersection to Sam Yan Intersection;
c. Wireless Road from Wireless Intersection to the Junction with the expressway
entrance on Petchaburi Road;
d. Roads within the perimeter set by a. to c. above and Rama IV Road;
e. Rajprarop Road from Pratunam Intersection to Makkasan Intersection
2. Those violating the prohibition under this Announcement shall be liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or a fine of no more than forty-thousand baht, or both, as stipulated in Section 18 of the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in Emergency Situation B.E. 2548.
3. Designated officials of commissioned rank or equal, shall be in charge of the execution of this Announcement.
