The 10th Thai Festival Opening Ceremony at Royal Thai Embassy
On 23 June 2011 from 7.00 to 8.00 p.m., Mr. Jitti Suwannik, Charge d’ Affaires, presided over the opening ceremony of the 10th Thai Festival or Thai Festival 2011 at the Royal Thai Embassy.
The 10th Thai Festival was organized by the Royal Thai Embassy and Team Thailand, Singapore. The event was held from 23 to 27 June 2011 at the Embassy’s ground with an aim to promote trade between Thailand and Singapore and to showcase Thai culture through Thai food and performance.
This year there were 67 vendors participating in the Fair to display many new products that are not yet available in Singapore. There were also 12 booths of Thai restaurants in Singapore selling Thai food and beverages. The cultural performance on the stage and kite making and umbrella painting at the demonstration area were directly from Chiang Mai.
The 10th Thai Festival had good response from the Singaporeans and foreigners alike as there were more than 2,500 visitors at the fair every day.
