Thai Students from Ubon Ratchathani Province Visited Royal Thai Embassy
On Friday 8 January 2010 from 4.30 to 5.30 p.m., 24 students from Benjamaracha School, Ubon Ratchatani Province, paid a visit to the Royal Thai Embassy. The students, supervised by Mrs. Patita Lokeskravee, were in Singapore from 8 to 10 January 2010 under “Discover Singapore” Programme, organized by Patom Art1 Centre for Learning and Human Development.
They met with Ambassador Nopadol Gunavibool, who informed them of the history, role and responsibilities of the Embassy, particularly in looking after Thai nationals in Singapore as well as Thais who pay short visits to Singapore. He also asked the students to observe how the Singapore Government and Singaporeans keep the island clean, green and orderly and share the information with their families and friends upon their return. He pointed out that even though it was a young and multicultural nation, Singapore was successful in its economic and social development.
The student representatives, in turn, informed the Ambassador of the background of Discover Singapore Programme and what they hoped to pain from this visit to Singapore. One of the representatives also read a poem he had written, wishing the Ambassador a happy New Year.
