Thai Restaurant Awarded Top 20 Best Restaurants in Asia

On Wednesday 30 September 2009 from 12.30 a.m. to 1.45 p.m. Ambassador Nopadol Gunavibool hosted lunch in honour of Mrs. Supapan Pichaironarongsongkram, Chairperson of Supatra River House Co.,Ltd., whose restaurant, “Supatra River House” was awarded Top 20 Best Restaurants in Asia The Miele Guide. Participated in the lunch included Mrs. Yachitr Yuvabool, Mr. Marut Jitpatima, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission, and Chitrachawee Arunroonglert, First Secretary.  During the lunch, Ambassador Nopadol congratulated Mrs. Supaporn on her achievement which is testimony to the popularity of Thai food and of Thailand as one of the culinary destination of the world. The Ambassador also discussed with Mrs. Supapan the prospect of organizing food tours to Thailand because of the great passion for good food among Singaporeans and foreign expats in Singapore. 

Mrs. Supapan was scheduled to join the Awards Presentation Ceremony at Fullerton Hotel on the same day at 8.00 p.m.

The 2010 edition of The Miele Guide features 450 restaurants in 16 Asian countries , namely Brunei, Cambodia, China (including Hong Kong and Macau), India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.  It lists the Top 5 restaurants for each country in the guide (with the exception of those countries for which there were very few restaurants listed).
