This event was organized by Wat Anantametayaram and Thai Association in Singapore in order to promote Sonkran or the festival of traditional Thai New Year which is on 13 April. It was also an opportunity for Thai people who live in Singapore to get together and to promote Thai culture.

The activities at this event included water blessing from monks, Thai dances, Miss Songkran Contest and spraying water to each other as it symbolized washing away sins from the past year.  Not only a lot of Thai people but also many foreigners who were interested in Thai culture, participated in this enjoyable event.
