Royal Thai Embassy Supports “Opportunities in 5 Key Business Sectors in Thailand”

On Wednesday 4 May 2011 from 10.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m., Ambassador Nopadol Gunavibool was invited to be Guest of Honour at a business symposium, entitled “Opportunities in 5 Key Business Sectors in Thailand” at Grand Hyatt Hotel.  The symposium was co-organized by Thailand Convention and Exhibition and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) and Singapore Business Federation (SBF) with support by Singapore Manufacturers’ Federation (SMa). The symposium was held to promote TCEB’s “Better the Best” campaign in Singapore and to enhance awareness of business opportunities in five sectors in Thailand as well as to increase the numbers of international exhibition event operators, exhibitors and visitors coming to Thailand. 

Under the “Better the Best” campaign, TCEB has selected five high-profile exhibitions in Thailand, namely Propak Asia, Bangkok International Gift & Houseware (BIG+BIH), Metalex, Renewable Energy and VIV Asia. All five exhibitions, which are certified as UFI Approved Events, are well recognized globally and regionally and present Thailand’s strong potentials in five core industries, namely packaging technology, gift and decorative items, machine tools and metalworking, renewable energy, and livestock and agriculture products. 

At the symposium, apart from the welcome remarks by the Ambassador, Mrs. Supawan Teerarat, Director of Exhibitions of TCEB also made presentation on “Exhibition Support Campaign and Opportunities to Vibrant Exhibition in Thailand.” The five show organizers also presented the participants with the details of each exhibition and the benefits from joining the above-mentioned 5 exhibitions in Thailand.     
           
The symposium had good response as there were more than 140 participants attending. It also strengthened the networks of trade associations and entrepreneurs in each industrial sector and was expected to lead to increased numbers of buyers and sellers visiting Thailand and help Thailand be leader in aforementioned industries among ASEAN countries through the holding of international trade fairs.
