Royal Thai Embassy Participated in Bukit Batok Water Festival 2010
On 18 April 2010 from 2.30 to 4.00 p.m., at Block 224, Bukit Batok Central, Mr. Monchai Phatchanee, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission, accompanied by Ms. Sutthathip Vathitphund, First Secretary and two Thai dancers, attended Bukit Batok Water Festival 2010, where Ms. Grace Fu, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of National Development & Ministry of Education had presence as a guest of honour.
The Bukit Batok Water Festival 2010 was organized by the Bukit Batok Grassroots Organizations (GROs) and the Myanmar community in Singapore to celebrate the traditional new year of Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos. There were 3,000 participants in this event.
The activities at this event included Myanmar Live Band Performance, Chinese dance, Laotian dance and Thai dance. The two Thai dancers performed Thai traditional dance called “Ram Chern Phra Kwan” or “Invite Good Spirit Dance”, which was impressed by the audience. After the performance, the dancers were most asked by the audience to take picture with.
