On 25th October 2009 from 9.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m., the Singapore Red Cross Society organized the Red Cross International Bazarr 2009 at premises of the Royal Thai Embassy. This biennial event was graced by President SR and Mrs.Nathan and drew some 3000 visitors. Ambassador Nopadol and Mrs. Anchulee Gunavibool hosted lunch for the President and Madame as well as other dignitaries from the Singapore Red Cross and Embassies at the Thai Residence.

The Royal Thai Embassy, together with 8 other Embassies, as well as some 50 local companies and charitable organizations took part. In addition to food and handicraft, there were also performances to raise funds for the Red Cross’ humanitarian services.

As for the Royal Thai Embassy, Team Thailand set up a booth selling Thai food, Thai products, Thai fruit juices and lucky draw tickets all of which were very popular among visitors and all the proceeds went to the Singapore Red Cross Society. The Embassy also arranged a Thai traditional dance performed at the opening ceremony.
