Promotion of Thai Cuisine in Singapore

On Friday 1 April 2011, from 10.30 a.m. to 3.00 p.m., the Royal Thai Embassy, represented by Mrs. Anchulee Gunavibool, spouse of the Thai Ambassador, organized a Thai food promotion event at the Patara Fine Cuisine Restaurant at Tanglin Mall, Singapore. The Event came into being with the cooperation of Mr. Antony Wong of Creative Eateries, one of the most well-known companies in food and beverage industry.  It is in line with the Thai Government's policy to make Thailand "Kitchen of the World", the Royal Thai Embassy consistently carries out activities to enhance understanding of Thai cuisine in Singapore. 

Twenty ladies from the diplomatic community, Chinese Women Association (CWA), the Ikebana International Singapore  and the Inner Wheel (West) Club, attended this special event, which started off with a cooking class conducted by Khun Chandnibha Suriyong, Senior Vice President Operations of S&P Global Co. Ltd.  Before  learning five well-known Thai dishes and dessert,  with hands-on experience in cooking intricate components of the Thai delecacies., the ladies were introduced to the fundamentals of Thai cuisine and the sources of various ingredients of Thai cooking that are not only put together to achieve the best of flavours, but also to give nutritious benefits to health.  This is because one needs to understand the concept of Thai cuisine to enjoy the maximum of Thai food.

After the cooking class, they  sampled the dishes cooked during the class as well as other delecious dishes prepared by the chefs of the Restaurant.
