Opening Ceremony of NUS Inter-tertiary Muay Thai Tournament 2010
On Saturday, 14 August 2010 from 10.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m., Ambassador Nopadol Gunavibool, accompanied by Ms.Sutthathip Vathitphund, First Secretary, and Ms. Kaewta Pisitkasem, Public Service Executive Development Officer, attended the NUS Inter-tertiary Muay Thai Tournament 2010 at NUS Central Forum. On this occasion, the Ambassador delivered an opening speech, which highlighted the benefits of Muay Thai in terms of sportsmanship, discipline and courage and the popularity of Muay Thai in Singapore because of its rich in culture and tradition.
The Inter-Tertiary Muay Thai Tournament was an annual event organized by Muay Thai Clubs from various tertiary institutions. This tournament aimed at introducing students to Muay Thai, showcasing the mental and physical attributes of a disciplined and well-trained Muay Thai fighter and the strong team spirit of the participating Muay Thai Clubs.
